Company Background

NGS provides glass repair and replacement as well as full glazing solutions including doors, windows, shop fronts, architectural glass and special projects for residential and commercial buildings.

Originally known as Neil’s Glass Service, the business began in 1990 with three qualified glaziers and two part-time administrators. Over the next 30 years it has become a highly-regarded glass repair and installation business, with 20 staff at three Sydney locations as well as a nationwide network of glaziers.

We specialise in glass repair and installation for:

NGS also has three glass factories in Sydney producing custom aluminium windows and glass shop fronts.

Two of our original glaziers continue to manage the business today, taking a hands-on approach to every project. Whether it’s emergency glass repair or specialist architectural glass design, the team at NGS is just a phone call away.

Chris Godden, Managing Director and Partner

Chris started working with Neil’s Glass Service 20 years ago as a glazier, and in 1995 he and David Bowrey took over the business. Over the next 16 years they grew it into one of Australia’s leading glass repair and installation companies.

Although Chris has more of an operational role now, overseeing the day to day running of the business, he continues to spend time onsite and with customers, ensuring his team makes a real difference by solving their problems quickly with quality work.

“Our network of glaziers allows us to do larger and more complex jobs, such as the upgrade to Taronga Zoo’s seal enclosures and other areas. Building codes and engineering requirements had changed since the zoo was first constructed, so it was a challenging but rewarding project to work on and just one example of the diversity of work we can do.” Chris Godden

David Bowrey, Managing Director and Partner

David was part of the NGS team when it first opened for business in 1990, having come from his glazier apprenticeship with another firm. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the glass industry.

Like Chris, he is heavily involved in the day to day running of the business and takes additional responsibility for meeting with new clients. You’ll often see him onsite making sure everything is running smoothly.

“I enjoy the wide variety of work we do, meeting different people with different challenges. I think people’s expectations are increasing and they want tradesmen who are also knowledgeable. We’re not just fixing broken windows – glass has evolved rapidly in the past few years and we’re involved with some exciting architectural and functional projects.” David Bowrey
